Hello
How do you make an introduction that’s not boring.
My name is Susanne and I found this site only a few days ago. (OK, that is boring)
I only put a short “Hi” in the members forum and got ever so lovely responses very quickly. I also offered to write a blog for you.
When my husband became ill I set up a FB page to keep our friends informed, instead of having to call or email everyone separately. Yes, I’m lazy. Very soon I started writing longer pieces, and I realised quickly how helpful this was. The support I got in the comments from our friends, most of whom live quite far away, was immense and became a lifeline. But I also noticed writing things down helped me to cope better.
So, let’s try a proper introduction, shall we?
I am 48 years young, I have two children. Our daughter is 12 and our son is 21. Both of them are wonderful kids, sadly they had to grow up way to soon. We are living just on the shores of Carlingford Lough, the most beautiful place on earth. Other family member are ‘Evil Elvis’ the cat, which is actually a girl. Don’t ask. Another cat, Eliza, which is Elvis’ daughter. Yep. And then there’s Cora, our (rescue) greyhound, let’s just say – she’s a girl with attitude.
Today marks the one hundreds day of Rodney’s death. He was diagnosed with cancer last August. He never had any symptoms whatsoever. A gene mutation made his cancer extremely aggressive and immune to all chemotherapy.
So, here I am. Still trying to get my head around to what the hell happened. I hope you will join me on my journey, I hope I can be there for you.
Love
Susanne
